Submitting Talks:

Your talk must be submitted until Friday 3rd 17th May 2013.

We are looking for topics in the area of Infosec. Doesn’t matter if it’s reverse engineering, web apps, or  netsec. If it’s infosec we are in for it!

We do however have a few rules:

·      The talk and slides must be in English – Even though it’s Bsides Lisbon we are expecting (and hoping) we will have a few foreign friends visiting our beautiful country and even presenting!

·      The talk will be recorded/streamed and published on our website – since this is our first Bsides we are restricting it to 200 participants and we want people that can’t get a ticket to be able to enjoy it as well.

·      You must give your talk with passion!

The main organizers for this event are:

·      Tiago Henriques - @balgan – balgan at ptcoresec dot eu

·      Bruno Morisson - @morisson – morisson at genhex dot org

The approval board for these talks will consist of other 5 security professionals besides ourselves:

·      Luis Grangeia

·      Carlos Serrão

·      Nuno Loureiro

·      David Rook (@SecurityNinja)

·      Michelle Klinger (@diami03)

The board will review all the talks and give them a rating, speakers will get at least a 2 month warning on either their talk has been accepted or not.

Your submission must contain the following information (minimum, you can add more if you feel it’s relevant):

·      Name

·      A brief biography

·      Type of talk (30 mins vs 60 mins)

·      Title

·      Description / Abstract

·      Explain why you think you are the adequate speaker on this topic

·      Has this material been presented somewhere else? If so, where?

·      Why do you want to present at Bsides Lisbon?

When submitting a talk please submit a valid contact, as we want to offer great talks and will be screening people and want to make sure we choose the right people.

If you wait until last minute you will have less of a chance of being picked.

Please use the following link to submit your talk:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHNLai1zMUM5T2JCdmUzN3o5cW5mbmc6MQ

Your talk won’t be picked IF:

·      It’s a sale pitch (vendor based talk / product talk)

·      Talks that don’t have the minimum information when submitted

Important information:

If you get picked a speaker, we can’t promise that we will be able to give you anything special other than a speaker badge. It’s our first BSides, it’s free and non-for-profit, and we are doing our best to try and get sponsors. In case we are able to partly of fully reimburse the speakers we will make sure to let you know at the time of acceptance of your talk.

Even if your talk gets rejected, we will make sure to give you an explanation on why your talk got rejected instead of merely replying with a “You’re out” generalized email.

Sponsoring

We are actively looking for sponsors. This will be a free and not-for-profit event, and as such any sponsorship will go directly into making this event the best possible event for all participants, both delegates and speakers! If you can, help us by sponsoring the event. For details, contact the organizers.
