About BSides Sao Paulo - São Paulo, Brazil
BSidesSP is a one-day conference on information security and hacker culture, organized by local infosec professionals with support from Brazilian hakerspace Garoa Hacker Clube. BSidesSP is free of charge and wants to create a day full of activities to promote information security and hacker culture in the country, as well as the innovation and DiY culture, enhancing the free knowledge share among security researchers, professionals, and students.
BSidesSP also represents the the first Security BSides in Latin America and since the beginning it also got the local name of Conferência o Outro Lado (Co0L), meaning "The Other Side Conference".
BSidesSP usually features various activities scheduled to take place simultaneously in different tracks, including talks, lightning talks, debates, technical workshops and a Brazilian barbecue. Additional relevant activities usually includes:
- Brazilian Arsenal: a series of activities to promote Open Source security tools developed by Brazilians
- Hacker Job Fair: an opportunity to discuss infosec career path and professional development
- Capture The Flag
- Game of Drones: Amateur robotics competition
- BSidesSP Mentorship Program: Support for new speakers
- BSides 4 Kids: Geek activities for the little ones
Additional notes:
- BSidesSP is a Portuguese-speaken conference. International speakers are welcome (since they present in Portuguese, English or Spanish) and international attendees are also welcome (if you do not mind on watching talks in Portuguese or just stay around, enjoying free beer and free barbecue);
- We do accept Hackerspace Passports! Bring yours !
